The Nivada Grenchen Super Antarctic Polar 32025A-ACE1 is an Ace Jewelers-exclusive limited edition of 50 pieces. Our take on the Super Antarctic features a pristine white dial -a first- and a seconds hand in signal orange. Futhermore, this watch comes with both the iconic beads-of-rice bracelet as well as an additional orange NATO strap. Like the standard production models, the stainless steel case measures 38mm across. It houses a self-winding movement in the form of the Soprod P024. The Super Antarctic is the not-so-distant cousin of the original Nivada Antarctic collection launched in 1950. The original rose to fame when it was used by members of the American Navy’s Deep Freeze 1 Task Force during their expeditions in the South Pole (1955-56). It was noted as being reliable and robust enough to perform in the most extreme conditions. Today’s Super Antarctic is an evolution from the original Antarctic keeping close to the 50s’ lines & design. Just like the original Antarctics, the 1957 International Geophysical Medallion si added directly on the case-back of all the modern Super Antarctics.
