Zenith pushes the boundaries of design and technical performance with the Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton. Available with either a black or blue openworked dial, these striking editions—references 03.9500.3600/78.I001 and 03.9500.3600/79.I001—blend contemporary aesthetics with the iconic El Primero high-frequency chronograph movement.
The bold 42mm stainless steel case retains the Defy Skyline’s distinctive octagonal shape and 12-facet bezel, finished with alternating brushed and polished surfaces for maximum visual impact. Beneath the sapphire crystal, the skeletonized dial reveals the intricate mechanics of the El Primero 3600SK caliber, with geometric cut-outs inspired by Zenith’s historic double-Z logo. The openworked layout includes three contrasting grey subdials, while Super-LumiNova-coated hands and hour markers ensure excellent legibility under any conditions.
Inside, the El Primero 3600SK movement delivers 1/10th of a second chronograph precision, with the central chronograph hand making a full sweep every 10 seconds. Beating at 5 Hz (36,000 vph), the movement offers a bi-directional automatic winding system and a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. The star-shaped oscillating weight and the intricate movement finishing are fully visible through the sapphire display back.
Each model comes equipped with a robust integrated three-link stainless steel bracelet, which can easily be swapped thanks to the quick-change system. An additional rubber strap with a matching star pattern—black or blue depending on the dial color—is also included.
Architectural, technical, and unmistakably Zenith, the Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton is a powerful expression of contemporary high-watchmaking.
